DERMAL FILLERS

What Is Dermal Filler?

Dermal filler is Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is Natural body fluid and lubricant, found in Vitreous Humour (i.e. back of the Eye), Synovial fluid (i.e. Joints) and etc. Its half-life is 24-36 hours.

For commercial aesthetic use, Hyaluronic acid is cross linked with a molecule called BDDE (Butane Diol Di-glycidyl Ether). This linkage reduces its natural metabolism and extends its half-life to approximately 12 months.

Mechanism of action:

HA, due to its High degree Elasticity and excellent lubricating properties, it integrates with natural Elastin and Collagen fibres, found in subcutaneous tissues of the person and fills up for the fat deficiency, which occurs with aging process. Thus, achieving the aesthetic results of reducing wrinkle and increasing skin elasticity.

New research has shown that it activates the fibroblast to create new collagen and inhibits the breakdown of existing collagen.
